Review Class

To say the least this class was very interesting... There were both good and bad things about the class.
Pros

• I learned how to format word so it would automatically indent each paragraph in the paper. This was a little bit of a time saver and learned how to use the same tool for the citation page. 
• I had to make sure each paper was thoroughly proofed from beginning to end, so I feel many of my papers were a step above my previous writing.
• There were no books we had to read.

Cons   

• After awhile the topic of social media started to get old, just overused
• When in class many times we were given an assignment, however the instructions were often time misleading and confusing. This was very stressful and sometimes overloaded myself with work I did not even know how to start.
• ALL THE WEBSITES!!! We must have signed up for at least 5 or 6 new sites for the class. I do not think I will ever use them gain outside of the class. Such as second life, it was kind of a waste of time, and no point (now spam emails)
• Reviews of papers. Well I like part of the meeting while reviewing my paper, most of the meetings were too long. I could understand if it was all based on the paper, but a lot of that time was spent on a dragged out conversation on why a single line was wrong. Which in turn usually brought up another point outside of the essay which took more time. 
• I LIKE YOUTUBE <3... others are on there social media browsing, that one is mine!

While it seems like the "cons" overtake the "pros"  the class itself was not awful. If you enjoy social media and would like a class biased around it, this class is for you. Especially if your not into the fiction/creative writing type and prefer more research and analyze. Plus the teacher is willing to work with you if she's free.

Now for my final YouTube compilation... The top three amazing people doing amazing things.

3) (2011) the music in this video can get repetitive and annoying, but the clips are most sports based which is what I like. I helicopter golfer, redbull stunt men, and other make this video in my top favorites.

 
2) (2012) Now the music they put to this video makes it that much more epic. But the people deserve the most credit. With flips, amazing dancing, extreme sports, parkour, it will draw your attention. It makes me say wow ever single time.

  

1) With this video being over 62 million views its no wonder it make number 1 in my countdown. The weirdness of the thing the people are doing is what makes the video so enthralling  and i recommend to search "Awesome people doing Awesome things" ans watch some of the videos. These are the things that you say thank god we filmed these because they are just simply amazing.

Review of the Phones

iOS vs. Android Review

Fellow classmate nicknamed Dakk50, wrote a review over the great debate between iOS devices (iPhone) and Androids. It's blatantly obvious that he is supporting Androids over top of iPhone he has some good key points over the topic.

He clearly states that his opinion is biased and when reading the blurb you can clearly see its for the Android devices. He talks about the variety between all of the different Android phones, like the Galaxy s3 and HTV Evo 4G, compared to iPhone which only update there product iPhone 4, 4s, 5... etc. 

One of his key criticisms was the high prices of the phones. However he never states any of the prices for either the iPhone or Android devices. Showing the price comparison would have created an even stronger argument for his debate. 

Another was screen control, he states, " I'm the type of guy that prefers complete control over nearly every part of my phone [...]. With iOS, you are stuck to one type of home screen, menu whatever. I prefer customization, but some people prefer the simplicity of the iOS." If I were him I would go a little more depth into what you can customize between the two phones.

Something I couldn't tell if he touched on was the the actual size difference between the phones. Trust me there a BIG difference between Galaxy s3 and iPhone 5. People who like small phones would have probably preferred the iPhone over top of the Androids. The iPhone can pretty much fit in the screen of the Galaxy s3.

Overall Dakk50 expresses his opinion of the two phones. However, his input could have been stronger if he fixes some simple capitalization of (i - to - I), and includes some of the points I touched on. Myself owning both an Android and iPhone, I too prefer Androids. the customization blows apple out of the water. All of there apps are set in place I could move mine where ever wanted too. Also te apps did not have to be just the little boxes  you could customize the size of the application.

Now I was just turned on to this smart phone app a few days ago and I can honestly say I probably wasted two hours siftng through it's contest the first day.
It's called WANELO

It what's hot, what's new, and what's trending. Basically it takes cool (AWESOME) clothing and accessories and puts them on one site to buy. People can post there own gear, shirts, and items up on the site that they thought were cool.

Now the layout. It pretty much has the same has the same layout as Instagram on the smartphone minus the picture taking function. Its laid out as follows... (left to right)

This is were you can scroll through the products and see what you like. You click on them to make the picture bigger and read the description. It also gives you the ability to buy or save the item in a wishlist. Finally can follow the link to the website of them item.

• My Feed

My feed is anything that you or your followers, comment on the pictures that you saved in your wishlist. Which allows you to see what your friends are looking at.

• Alerts

Just joining I only have two alerts. I can assume that its used to talk about products and the app itself.

• You

On this page it displays all the picture you have saved into one collection. Then you can filter your pictures (when you have the app for awhile) by the custom wishlists you make. You can name them anything, such as, Dope shoes, Dank-Tops, Shades, etc.

Now don't get me wrong but I would rock all of these. And ladies I feel like I'm leaving you out a little, however I don't really know fashion. Rock Climbing

My Forearms are on FIRE!!!!

Rock climbing is one of my favorite things to do on top of lifting, hiking and camping. It can be recreational, professional, or just crazy people doing amazing climbs. If your looking or a thrill or a good workout i recommend rock climbing to anyone. 

But, with every sport there's always the professionals and the idiots and I'm going to sa leave it to the pros on this one. Here's my top 5 rock climbing favorites from, you got it, Youtube.

5) I know what our going to say... trust me. But, these Asian rock climbers are amazing and scale these rock walls so fast I really can't even fathom how they do it. 

4) Lets take a break from the rocks and look at something a little different. How about climbing up buildings? Alain Robert is the French Spiderman.

3) If you could fathom the number 5 on the list, like myself, this one is going to be harder. This man nicknamed the human spiderman make me feel worthless on a rock wall. Whether its his finger strength, and just natural ability I recommend looking up more videos about this crazy man.

  

2) Two words... Alex Honnold. Possibly the best climber in the world, he climbs amazing heights without the aid of ropes or harnesses. He will die, if he falls!!

P.S. sorry for length its just breath taking 

1) Finally probably the most famous rock climbing event, because it ended so poorly. 127 hours a movie made about the event Aaron Ralston had to cut off his own arm after being trapped between two rocks when climbing alone. He's been featured on talk show and most notably Tosh.o  

Definitely the scariest of all outcomes. But on a lighter side BONUS CLIP... lets get some comedy to lighten the mood.

Lifting Bloops

As spring Break approaches on the college campus the fitness centers get flooded with the "two-week abs" kids. Needless to say they don't know how to lift very well. Everyone is so caught up on getting there beach bodies, that obviously wont happen in 2 weeks, and lack the necessary discipline and lifting form. Also people who lift regularly like myself have no room.

Goats? LOL

I saw this video on YouTube around two weeks ago when it was sent in a link by my brother. I clicked on link and it was called "Goats that Scream like Humans. I thought to myself oooooh great another dumb internet video, this is about to be uber-dumb. I WAS SO WRONG! The goats actually sounded like humans and for some reason I just couldn't help laughing, and I watched it over and over and over again.

But, to my knowledge it was just this video two weeks ago and I forgot about the screaming goats. Until some comical genius on the internet added them to songs! If I thought I was laughing before I was dying now. I spread the comedy through family and friend and I recommend you do too.

The Harlem Shake

It's here and it's now! But, what is it? It's the Harlem Shake!!!!!!!!!!!
It's the last craze featuring dancing around crazily when the song's (the Harlem Shake) beat drops.
Now this crazy dancing spread like wildfire over the internet, just like Gangnam Style when it was released. The videos are generally 30 seconds to a minute long and feature the drop of the song.

5) The college campus of Akron University was transformed into dance outside of there student union, where students dressed up and went crazy to this dance. Also, BONUS there Harlem shake video featuring the AK Rowdies and the Akron Basketball team.

4) The mans really got some self control when he's surrounded by all those beautiful women dancing around him in his sewing shop. This drop is unexpected and great for the younger males looking at my blog.

  

3) When look at this video in the start I think ummm... Firefighters this is definitely going to involve an epic fire-hose in the drop. Oh how I was wrong. Check it out

These videos are funny to watch and all around enjoyable. Also they're a very good advertising technique because the funny dancing will draw people attention. Companies like Pepsi and Sea World came out with there own versions of the Harlem shake when these craze became popular.

MIGHTY Mac.. and cheese

MAC AND CHEESE PLEASE!!!!!!!
I sure don't know if your mouth is watering but mine sure is. It a comfort food that nobody could ever, ever, ever turn down. It's good when your young, old, in school, out of school, long day, lazy day, sick, or never felt better. It's my favorite food and it should be yours too.

There's a millions different ways to make Mac and Cheese. With many different types of pastas and cheese to mix for any combination you want and not to mention the meats, veggies, and spices to give it that extra kick. Now you can go the easy route and just make some Kraft (stove top) or put some Stouffer's in the oven, not to say that you can't add your own culinary flare. However, if you want the cheesiest, mouth watering, explosion of flavor, and downright best Mac and Cheese of your life you have to go homemade.

Here's my top 5 Mac and Cheese Combinations
1) Old-Fashion Mac - Cheddar shredded cheese, no meat, elbow macaroni
2) HOT MAC!! Spicy - Mexican shredded cheese, Cajan chicken, fresh diced jalapenos, elbows
3) Steak Mac - Swiss shredded cheese, cut-up dry rubbed steak, mushrooms, elbows
4) Crabby Mac - Sharp cheddar and Parmesan cheese, crab meat, bread crumbs, shell pasta
5) Beer Bacon Mac - Cheddar cheese, one bottle choice beer, cut bacon, and elbows

Now here's the scoop on how to make my personal favorite Old-Fashion Mac from scratch with my own recipe. You'll need...

• 9 by 9 pan 
• 1/2 box elbow macaroni
• 2 cups Milk
• 2 to 3 cups of shredded cheddar
• 1 tsp onion flakes
• 4 shakes of black pepper 
• A couple dabs Worcestershire sauce 
• A generous squeeze of yellow mustard
• A sprinkle of garlic powder

You start by cooking the pasta on stove top. Bring the water to a boil and cook for 7 to 8 minutes until soft. Then preheat oven to 400 degrees. For the cheese sauce add milk, mustard,Worcestershire, and all spices into a pan. Heat the milk mixture until warm but not boiling. After it's heated start adding hand fulls of cheese at time and continuously stirring until sauce thickens. After the elbows and sauce is done add the macaroni to the 9 by 9 pan and cover with the cheese sauce. Give it a quick stir and then place the Mac and Cheese in the oven for 20 minutes or until the top starts to brown. Remove the Mac and let it sit for 10 minutes before serving.

BONUS --- Try adding favorite hot sauce like Tabasco, Frank's Red Hot, or my personal favorite Chili garlic Cholula 

Total time: around 30 to 40 minutes

Next time your feeling down in the dumps or got a craving you just can't satisfy throw on your apron and make some Mac and Cheese. Congratulation Ravens on there 34-31 victory over the San Francisco 49ers...

There was a lot of action this year and if you watched the game the you were probably ready to throw the control at the TV like myself when half of the stadium lights went off. But today I'm not hear to talk about the action on the field but rather during the breaks. You know what I mean, the commercials!

For many of us, the Superbowl is not complete without the commercials, its a way for companies to really show there best work to peak revenue per-say from a highly televised event. The comedy and the products only go hand in hand and needless to say the commercials are talked about the next day as much as the game. 5)    The Budweiser Clydesdale "Brotherhood". More heartfelt then comedy this year the Superbowl just isn't complete without the Clydesdale its a tradition and i remember them since I started watching the Superbowl. They been airing since 1986.

Contraband

Mark Wahlberg (Chris Farraday) stars in the movie Contraband. Here's the quick synopsis...
                                              Spoiler
- Chris Farraday's wife's little brother tries to run a drug deal in the start of the movie. However, they get stopped and searched on the way into the port and have to drop all the drugs.

- This forces Chris to jump back into the smuggling business to repay the debt of the "stupid" younger brother and protect his family, while also putting his family at risk.

-They make it to the drop overseas, but their first shipment didn't go as planned because the counterfeit cash wasn't made correctly. Which causes Chris to travel into gang territory and complete a sting for the quality fake cash or "funny money."

- Along the way he learns that his best friend is actually behind the first deal that went sour with his cousins little brother. When we returns home... You Can Watch The Rest.

In my opinion the movie was a little lacking. Sure it had action, and a few big actors, however the plot was a little jumpy. Not that you couldn't follow the plot, yet moved a little to fast or my taste. The movie was just like watching another movie, nothing was that special about it. Critics off of RottenTomatoes agreed with my lacking of movie interest with a rating of 5.4/ 10. The fast passed begin didn't give enough background into Chris Farraday character. Supposedly he was really good at smuggling. If I were to remake the beginning I would have started with the last run of Chris career before he "retired," then flashed forward to his modern life.

All and all if your bored and looking for an action film, or just a Mark Wahlberg fan Contraband wasn't a bad movie to just pass the time.   

Gamer's Getaway - COD

The Video Game craze is upon us and teens are engrossed in there virtual war. Whether its PC, Xbox 360, or PS3 everyone knows the Call of Duty series.

The original Modern Warfare of the COD franchise in my opinion is where the series took off. The game was well balanced and could literally be played for hours on end. This online multiplayer is simple you play objective game types such as Team Death-match (TDM), Domination (Dom), Search & Destroy (S&D), Demolition (Demo), and many others.
This game followed simple kill-streaks, killing enemy players
3 kills - UAV
5 kills - Air Strike
7 kills - Helicopter 


The more popular the game more time people would play on the game. However the game records the time you play on online in games, and for the case of several of my friends it totaled 22 to 24 days! Talk about an addiction.

An Ohio teen know how exactly addicting COD can become. CBS has the story of Tyler Rigsby - Article - he collapsed from dehydration after playing for  to 5 days straight. His mother said that he only came out of his room to use the bathroom or for a quick snack. He was so engrossed by the game that he simply forgot to drink. 
A parent might be considered that their child maybe playing to much video games, especially when they hear about cases like Tyler. I would say that they are overreacting. Most teens are just regular gamers they know when their hungry and they will go and get food and drink liquids nonetheless. But, can you really the blame the child for playing too much COD. They grew up in a technical age and they choose to 'play' the most of it.

This Black Ops II is the newest Cod available. It offers online multiplayer, and zombies, which was originally seen in World at War. The objective game types are all still present which a few new ones like Party Games (gun game, sticks and stones, one in the chamber, and sharpshooter), Hardpoint, and Multi-team. Also starting in MW2 the kill streaks changed, and in this Black Ops there based on points not kills now called Score-streaks.

The games create new weapons, and new maps with each game. I'm personally hooked on the series and go to the midnight release for the new COD every year. More people join Xbox Live (online multiplayer) and PS3 yearly, and with 11 million copies of Black Ops II sold in the first week, Call of Duty really is the video game to have.   


   

College Cash - Gas Station

Gas Station 

After searching to find a job during winter break, in my home town, i finally landed  a job working at a local gas station. I figured will is not the worst thing in the entire world and I'll satisfy the need for quick cash at college. I can now say that working a register is CONFUSING!! Not until do i have to put gas on the pumps and ring people out, but there are two hard parts to the job...

1.) Lottery...
The machine is behind the counter and trying to listen to a little old lady list off number Mid/Eve or Backup/box/Straight/etc. number of draws, number of tickets, number of plays and there's 8 different kind of tickets. It's awful!

2.) Cigarettes...
THERE IS A MILLION DIFFERENT KINDS!!!
Marlboro, Marlboro light, ultra light, menthol, menthol light, southern cut, red label, blacks, blacks menthol, smooths, 27's, 72's, 83's, skyline,.... and that's only one brand. Oh and not mentioning regular or 100's of the different types of the brand.

For someone who doesn't smoke it can be very aggravating and confusing to say the least. But, at least its some cash to spend. With all the work, it's really not that bad of a job, especially since minimum wage just increased to $7.85.
